Have you ever noticed that your Facebook and Instagram feed are a carefully curated and honed version of your thoughts and values, we maintain it, removing what we’re no longer interested in and what no longer serves us. Constantly pruning and weeding out what is superfluous to us.
Based on our thoughts, preferences, likes and dislikes and ever changing and evolving personality.
Selecting and adding new ideas and interests along the way, that better fit our needs and interests.
So, tell me what would I see if I delved into your brain? Would it only be useful thoughts and feelings?
Past times that fill your cup and nourish your soul? Keeping you balanced, afloat and in touch with yourself.
Coping mechanisms that support you and allow you to reduce stress?
I’m guessing the answer is probably no! Literally no one is perfect, BUT WHY do we keep hanging onto old unhelpful ways of thinking? Beating ourselves up when things go wrong. Not spending enough time on replenishing ourselves?
It stands to reason, that just like your news feed, your brain will feel junked up if you don’t declutter every once in a while, leaving you swimming in a sea of unhelpful superfluous nonsense that has no benefit for you and leaves you feeling overwhelmed and bogged down.
Wouldn't it make more sense to find out what truly matters to you and dump all that excess baggage that’s just weighing you down? When we give ourselves space to truly reflect on what we need and what’s just junk, then we can begin the decluttering process, lightening our load and making us freer and able to enjoy life.
Tell me, what few thoughts or actions could you delete to make your mind feel a little more free and function better?
If you need any tips, I love helping others declutter their mind to get it running smoothly and feeling tip top!
