Negative words affect the growth of plants
There have been a few not entirely scientific experiments carried out which do indeed suggest that the overall growth rate and health of plants is affected by not only their care but also by the way in which they are treated.
The experiments conducted showed that the plants who were mistreated and abused with horrible, demeaning language appeared to fare much worse compared to those which were nurtured and loved.
This is self explanatory really and I’m sure most of don’t go around shouting at plants. Yet, we often talk down to ourselves and abuse ourselves with mean thoughts and language habitually.
We’re stupid, fat, old, ugly… you name it, well I’m sure at one moment or another more than one of those words will have tripped off our tongue when we’re describing ourselves. Just think what impact that language has on us if it causes plants to wither and die?
It tells us that we’re not worthy, not useful and not deserving. So what language and care would you use and give to yourself if you too wanted yourself to thrive and flourish?
I for one am celebrating the fact that I have made it through an emotionally exhausting and at times frustrating week. I am capable, I am worthy and I am strong.
Tell me what your words of flourishing encouragement are?
