Have you ever noticed just how addictive social media is?
It’s actually designed to be that way, it constantly feeds into our need for interaction and constantly changes to keep you engaged and to look out for new posts.
Also the buzz you get when one of your posts gets likes and comments gives you a little feel good serotonin boost, making you feel popular, important and worthy.
Yet all of this can become a rather draining cycle of events, keeping you engaged for longer periods of time and feeling devalued, drained and down if you don’t get any positive interaction from others.
So my challenge for you this weekend is to ditch your phone maybe just for a day and see how you feel. Tap into ways of making yourself feel fulfilled, valued, energised and worthy,
Whether that’s meditating, dancing around joyfully to a goofy song, doing a hobby that you enjoy or reading a book.
It’s great to always have the knowledge that you have ways of nourishing yourself and making yourself feel good without having to rely on other people and sneaky algorithms to give you a boost.
So what will you be doing without social media this weekend?
