It sounds simple enough doesn’t it, but what we’re currently facing is the overwhelming urge to take back what was lost over the last two years, social engagements, drinks out, barbecues, gigs catch ups in the park all inclusive holidays.
This is completely understandable and the desire to reconnect, engage in shared experiences and share each other’s company is a hard wired desired human trait that enables collaboration to ensure happiness, growth and survival,
It’s also natural to feel obliged to partake in as many things as possible, but where do you draw the line, the FOMO is real!
Well if you start to feel overwhelmed, anxious, busy brain and just a bit burnt out?
Maybe it’s time to dial things back a bit.
Your brain is trying to tell you to take some time out for yourself. It’s good self care to know when to scale things back a bit, to listen to what YOU truly need.
Different people have different levels of need for social interaction and different activities will either fill or deplete people’s cups depending on whether you thrive on social interaction or you need a significant amount of time to reboot.
So rather than letting yourself get overwhelmed and physically exhausted by the 1000s of different options, learn to listen to that quiet voice within and learn to honour it when it tells you to pull back and rest.
