How often have you done something and then only realised half way through what you were actually doing?
This is more common than you might realise, you get up in the morning and pour your same bowl of cereal after putting the kettle on for your morning cuppa, sit down and absent mindedly start munching away, same routine day after day without even thinking about why.
You see, our brains are programmed to run on autopilot, if we had to process every single element and situation that we encountered every day we’d lose our minds! Our brains are built to run on set programme of familiarity where we don’t need to expend too much energy considering options, it takes what it deems to be useful shortcuts for us best on saved past experience.
Yet have you ever stopped and wondered if our actions are truly serving us?
Are we truly terrible with time keeping or do we feel the need to sleep in til it’s almost too late every morning as we didn’t go to bed when we intended to so we feel the need to make up extra time and that’s what we’ve always done?
How could you make your brain work better for you?
Much like a computer you can choose to rewrite the programme that your brain chooses to run on.
If you could peel away these layers of pre programmed routines and imprint a conscious choice as to what you’d like to be doing what would you choose first?
Hypnotherapy puts you into a deep state of relaxation which then allows us to unite the conscious and subconscious parts of our brain.
It’s whilst we have access to the subconscious that we can rewrite patterns of behaviour and guide our minds to work for us. Actively choosing to imprint new ideas and behaviours that will benefit us rather than just letting ourselves run on autopilot.
It’s like switching off the overly judgemental neighbour who is constantly watching over your shoulder waiting to tell you that you’re doing it wrong and why you should be picking the safe option instead.
If you have an area of your life that you’d like to take control of and change for the better, then get in contact and we can discuss how I can help you.
