They don’t start trying to learn to walk and then give up because it’s too hard, if other people’s kids are anything like mine, he actually started to do his own strength exercises to prepare himself to be able to walk so that he felt ready.
This was entirely of his own doing and not something that I cultivated at all, I was frankly amazed watching his perseverance and tenacity.
They never question their ability or whether or not they should be doing something (sometimes to their detriment! 😅) they intrinsically know that they CAN do anything they put their mind to.
SO my question is, just when do we stop believing in ourselves?
When does our brain start working against us and telling us that it’s probably best if actually no, we don’t give that new venture a go, it’s best that we actually sit on the sofa instead as we won’t risk mucking up and making a fool of ourselves!
This just strikes me as rather sad, yes we learn many things as we get older, but I didn’t bank learning fear and reticence to give new things a go.
I’ll be doing a part two to this tomorrow with my top tips on how to reset your mind and put those pesky negativity niggles in place! 😄🙌🏻
